DESCRIPTION
ABYSSAL BLADE is a 2D pixel-art boss rush inspired by difficult raid mechanics from high-level MMO raids like FFXIV Savage, WoW Mythic, and Lost Ark Legion raids. These encounters feature cast bars, telegraphed AOEs, and precisely-timed patterns that require flawless execution to survive.
With only 1 HP, you journey to defeat grief by challenging five unique bosses, each embodying one of Kübler-Ross’s stages of grief: Denial, Anger, Bargain, Depression, and Acceptance. Each encounter explores a different emotional struggle, expressed through distinctive mechanics and various gimmicks.
To defeat these foes, resolve each boss mechanic through trial and error, and maximize your damage output when openings appear.

ABOUT VIFER GAMES
Vifer built his following on YouTube and Twitch starting in 2021, covering Arknights, a popular mobile gacha game. In early 2024, he made the bold decision to step away from content creation and pursue game development.
What started as a solo project quickly evolved into a family collaboration when his brother, Timmy, came aboard as lead programmer. This allowed Vifer to concentrate on gameplay design and art direction.
Both brothers shared an obsession with MMO raid mechanics. ABYSSAL BLADE emerged from their combined passions: Vifer's love for Final Fantasy XIV's Savage/Ultimate raids, and Timmy's enthusiasm for Mabinogi's dungeons and boss fights. They were drawn to encounters that functioned like elaborate puzzles: fights that rewarded strategic thinking and pattern recognition over reflexes/i-framing.
A key problem that Vifer wished to solve was accessibility. In traditional MMOs, these masterfully-designed, addicting bosses were typically locked behind hundreds of hours of MSQ, gear farming, and tedious grinding. Thus, Vifer's vision was to create a game where anyone could experience the thrill of conquering mechanically-rich boss fights without the traditional MMO barriers—no gear checks, no RNG, no endless preparation. Just you, the boss, and your ability to learn, adapt, and execute.
